Important Dates

Please make checks payable to "Mills Music Arts Group" and note the student's name on the memo, and drop it  in the lock box in the Band Room in a sealed envelope.

It is our greatest pleasure to announce the Mills Music Field Trip to the Disney Performing Arts Music 101 Workshop at Disneyland in Los Angeles, CA.  Students will be leaving Friday, March 11 before class starts, and return Monday March 14, 2022 (student will miss two days of school: one minimum day and one one full day of school).

The Disney workshop simulates being a professional musician group in a studio environment. During the workshop, students will sightread and work directly with industry professionals, culminating with a screening of their recorded work set to Disney film footage.  Please see the details following the links on this page.

The cost of the trip is $750 per student with minimum 80 student participation. Please review the links and documents listed below for detailed information. Preliminary itinerary is supplied in the links below, but details may change.

Trip Details

General Policy

  • During the trip, all prevailing COVID-19 protocols will be followed, and school behavior rules will be enforced. Due to the prevalence of the virus, updating vaccination through booster is highly encouraged
    (note: as of 9/24/2021, 96% of Mills students were fully vaccinated per SMUHSD announcement)

  • The entire trip cost is non-refundable (even if unable to travel due to COVID-positive case)

  • Everybody must be masked on the bus and indoors

  • Cold/flu-like symptoms will be assumed COVID-positive unless proven otherwise, and will need to isolate

  • Participating students will be tested (for free) few times during the weeks leading up to the trip, as well as during the trip if need arise. If a student tests positive for COVID-19, SMUHSD COVID policy will be followed as below (as of 2/12/2022):

  • Medical Consent Form (online form, pdf manual entry download)
    One form per student required. Please fill out the online form, and then print out the pre-filled pdf that was e-mailed to you, review the document, sign and return to Mr. G. DUE 2/14
    If you do not receive the document, please contact webmaster with the student's name, and a copy will be re-sent.

  • SMUHSD Trip Rules and Behavior Contract (online form, pdf manual entry download)
    One form per student required. Please fill out the online form, then print out the pre-filled pdf that was e-mailed to you, review the document, and return the signed form to Mr. G. DUE 2/14
    If you do not receive the document, please contact webmaster with the student's name, and a copy will be re-sent.

  • Field Trip Form (handed out in class - pdf)
    This form is required by SMUHSD. It may ask the same questions from previous forms that were filled out for the Music Director, but it goes to a different audience and purpose.

  • Chaperone LiveScan forms (form, LiveScan provider info)
    All chaperones must have LiveScan background check on file with SMUHSD.  Please use this form.  If you have the scan done at this UPS Store in Foster City, SMUHSD will pay for the LiveScan fee. Please call the provider to verify their store hours before heading to the UPS store. It may take up to 4 weeks for the background check to complete and the district to obtain the results, so please have this done ASAP. If you have previously had LiveScan filed with SMUHSD, you do not need to do it again.
